Article - Two Mingled Spirits
It is breathtaking to know that the human spirit is thriving, growing and real entity within us all that will live on past the expiration of our flesh. It is even more divinely breathtaking to know that the Holy Spirit lives amongst us to guide us through our journey here on earth.
The human spirit is a crucial part of our existence that we cannot live without. At times, certain situations and adversity will take over our lives and cause a suffering that targets the spirit. When we are spiritually weak we feel pain, hopelessness & despair. In Psalm 143:4 David cries out to God "so my spirit grows faint within me". He was going through something so horrible that his entire song is a plea of help to God because the suffering he was living was destroying his spirit.
That point in a human's journey, the point where we feel our spirit grow faint, is a crossroad, specially for those whom have not truly met Jesus in their lives. We can turn to Jesus, just as David did, and cry for help. Psalm 143:7 "answer me quickly, O lord, my spirit fails".
Jesus promised us the presence of the great counselor, the Holy Spirit, in our lives. Through the work of the Holy Spirit; which connects us with Jesus, and in turn with God; our Lord lifts us up and saves us.
In a sometimes slow yet amazing process, our spirit regain their strength and begin to grow. We cannot see the Holy Spirit, but we can feel it. The Holy Spirit gives us strength through our trials (Judges 3:10) and through our trials our human spirit strengthens (Job 10:1). The Holy Spirit helps us worship God (John 4:21) and through worship, prayer and communion with the Lord, our human spirit grows. The Holy Spirit can change your torn up heart (Matthew 12:34-36) and others will see the changes that have taken place within your human spirit and believe. (Galatians 1:23-24). The Holy Spirit brings deep peace to our existence (John 14:25-27) and our peaceful human spirit will not be afraid. The Holy Spirit lets us in to the Kingdom of God (Luke 4:43) and in the kingdom of God our Human Spirit will no longer be human, but instead will live forever with our Heavenly Father (Ephesians 2:6). Keeping that balance of our own beings as a whole is how we will live our lives to the fullest enjoying the complete divinity of the Holy Spirit. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 May God Himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
